Abstract:
In most networks certain nodes play more important roles than others. To give a recent example, popular individuals with frequent social contacts are more likely to spread a disease in the event of an epidemic. In my talk I will present an overview of methods proposed in the literature to identify key nodes in the network, including classic centrality measures (e.g., degree, closeness, betweenness), more complex measures (such as PageRank) and recent ideas (including game-theoretic centrality measures).
