Title : A theory of farsightedness in social environments

Astract : We propose some basic properties of a farsighted standard of behavior for social environments and we show that standard of behavior so far defined in the literature fail to satisfy those properties. We prove that, in general, no farsighted standard of behavior exists. We inytroduce a new standard of behavior that satisfies prudence, anticipation and path optimality criterion. It happens that in the subclass of acyclic environments, the newly defined standard of behavior is the only one which satisfies these three properties of farsighteness.
